Our next event is a rather special Musical Interlude Afternoon and takes place on Saturday 30th September in the beautiful listed wood panelled Reading Room above the Old Fire Station (next to the Providence Pub) in Sandgate.
The afternoon will start at 2.30pm with a welcome drink of Prosecco and canapes. This will be followed by a varied programme of light classical music at 3.15pm with professional musicians The Avignon Duet, made up of a cellist and a violinist. Among the pieces to be performed is the haunting violin solo from the film Ladies in Lavender, by British composer Nigel Hess – the film starred Judi Dench and Maggie Smith.
Tickets are at a special price of £7.50 members and £8.00 non members – and available by ringing 01303 244477 or by calling in to the Old Fire Station on Saturday mornings 10am to 1230pm.
Please note due to space restrictions in the Reading Room there are just 25 tickets – available on a first come first served basis.
We are all very excited as we have not done anything like this before and we look forward to welcoming you there.
