The Sandgate Society is a civic society - registered charity No. 280497 - campaigning for over 60 years to preserve and enhance Sandgate village's unique built and natural heritage; to promote the well-being of our community and build a sustainable future.

The society's HQ is a grade II listed building located at 51 Sandgate High St CT20 3AH. We are open every Saturday morning from 10.30am- 12.30pm when our extensive archive is available to explore . The Reading Room upstairs is available for hire.

Each year a full programme of events and talks is presented

The society's large collection of historical artefacts, documents and images is available at the Old Fire station and on-line

The village has over 120 nationally listed heritage assets and many buildings of local architectural and historical value

The society is active in making representations to resist over-development with the latest site being Enbrook Park (with the announced closure of the SAGA office)
